Nestled on five peaceful acres in Winnsboro, South Carolina, Devil Dog Kennels is a veteran-owned haven for dogs of all shapes and sizes. Founded in 2021 by Tom Oswald, a proud U.S. Marine Corps veteran and lifelong dog enthusiast, our mission is simple: to provide a safe, comfortable, and loving environment where your dog feels right at home.

After serving in the U.S. military, Tom returned to South Carolina and began working alongside his father in the construction business. During that time, he adopted and rescued several dogs, each one deepening his passion for animal welfare and igniting a desire to do more. What started as a personal mission soon grew into something bigger: Tom began spending his weekends driving across the country to transport dogs for animal rescues, helping them reach safe homes and second chances. That experience, witnessing the need firsthand and the joy of every life saved, inspired him to build kennels on his own property. In 2021, Devil Dog Kennels was born: a place where dogs could be safe, cared for, and loved while their families were away.

At Devil Dog Kennels, we believe every pup deserves space to roam and rest. Our fully fenced property, reinforced with kettle wire for added safety, allows dogs to enjoy the outdoors worry-free. Whether your dog prefers the privacy of our indoor/outdoor runs, which allow dogs to step outside freely whenever they need, or the cozy companionship of our family rooms, we offer tailored boarding options to suit every need.

We feed twice daily and are happy to follow your pup’s personal feeding schedule. Medications? No problem, just send us clear instructions via email or text, and we’ll take care of the rest. We also welcome dogs with special dietary needs or medical conditions, just let us know what your pup requires, and we’ll make sure they’re cared for like one of our own.

We recommend booking early, especially during holidays, as space is limited and fills quickly.

We offer discounts to active-duty military and veterans, and we’re always looking for ways to give back, whether it’s through supporting local shelters or helping families in need find safe, affordable care for their pets. In 2024, we expanded our mission with the launch of our sister organization, Devil Dog Rescue, dedicated to helping abandoned and at-risk dogs find loving forever homes. Together, Devil Dog Kennels and Devil Dog Rescue work hand-in-paw to ensure every dog gets the care, respect, and second chance they deserve.
